Within Baxendale you’ll find recently refurbished modern facilities; light airy rooms with en-suite bathrooms and stunning views; dedicated, caring staff and happy, active residents. Our home has a wonderful atmosphere, where residents can enjoy regular visits from family and friends and then participate in exciting, stimulating entertainment and activities – making this a truly special place to live.
Our facilities include 24-hour-a-day care, a full programme of varied and stimulating activities, a five-star-rated kitchen, a hair salon and laundry services. Our home contains several spacious lounges and a bright dining room that looks out across a shimmering lake.
The best view for miles
Within the grounds of our retirement home near Barnet are the most wonderful, lush, and tranquil gardens, with beautiful flowers that bloom all year and a shimmering lake that residents can take a gentle stroll around. You’ll be able to watch the changing seasons reflected right before you and witness the shifting colours of the surrounding landscape.
For less mobile residents, this fabulous view can still be admired from many areas throughout the home, including the conservatory, the lounge and the large outside patio area. In fact, what makes our home truly unique is that almost all of our residents can also enjoy this vista from the window of their own bedroom.
Look and feel your best
Whilst living us, why not treat yourself to regular visits to our in-house hair salon? Catering for both ladies and gentlemen, our professional hairdresser Reebeka will pamper you and make you look and feel your best. We also arrange visits from nail technicians, chiropodists and GPs to help keep you in tip-top condition.
Our laundry service means that you will always have fresh, clean clothes and linen brought to your room.
As well as looking good on the outside, we help you to feel good on the inside, through the healthy and nutritious meals that our five-star-rated kitchen provide for our residents daily.
Spaces to make friends or get away from it all
Throughout Baxendale you’ll discover quiet lounges and vibrant communal spaces designed to suit whatever your mood is each day. Our main lounge provides residents with a large television, a piano and is where many of our communal activities take place.
If you are looking for a bit of solace and ‘me-time’, our sun lounge is a quiet space to enjoy the view across the tranquil grounds, read a newspaper or play a game with friends. We also have a library which doubles as a visitor room.
Fully equipped for all needs
Baxendale has a dedicated specialist sensory room, providing interactive and stimulating lights and projections. This facility is often accessed by residents with dementia but it is actually available to everyone, and many of our non-dementia residents thoroughly enjoy the soothing and relaxing music and light displays.
All of our bedrooms are equipped with shower hoists that can move residents from their beds into their en-suite shower room if necessary. Away from the bedrooms we also have ‘special assist’ baths for our less able residents who will be supported by our specially trained care staff.
Great local amenities on our doorstep
Although nestled in a secluded, quiet corner of Whetstone, the local shops (which include Waitrose, Boots and The Post Office) are only a short distance away. The local area boasts a wonderful array of independent cafes and restaurants. Bus stops and the local underground station, Totteridge and Whetstone, is also very nearby.
For security reasons, entrance to Baxendale is exclusively through a controlled access system, while a private on-site car park is always available for visitors and staff.
