Your care
We take the word ‘care’ very seriously at Baxendale. At our care home in North London, our primary goal is to ensure that our residents stay as healthy and happy as possible, thriving and getting the best out of their time whilst living with us.
What matters to you, matters to us
At Baxendale, our 24-hour care home is more than a ‘home from home’ for the people who live with us: a very special community exists, and our home has a wonderful warm atmosphere. From the day our residents first move in, we do everything to help you settle in quickly and comfortably, as well as offering support for your whole family as everyone transitions to the new changes.
All of our care staff have specialist expertise and have been chosen for their compassion, empathy and experience. They are here to provide the support you need whilst always placing your dignity, health and wellbeing as their key priorities.
Independence with support when needed
The amount and level of care that each resident needs will of course vary on a case-by-case basis. Our highly experienced team will work with you to create the perfect care plan for you, usually in conjunction with loved ones and your general practitioner or current care provider.
Care is provided 24 hours a day, seven days a week, available as and when it is required. We want you to retain your independence for as long as possible but can always provide assistance with things such as bathing, using the toilet, dressing and eating, as well as helping you move around.
All our residents have access to a dentist, optician and chiropodist and we arrange visits from GPs and district nurses. A visit to our on-site hairdresser can also go a long way to making you feel and look good.
Carers who truly care
Twenty-seven of our sixty staff members are dedicated to residential care, with eighteen fulfilling domestic and kitchen duties. Many of them have been with us for over ten years, which reflects the ‘family’ feel of Baxendale. As you’d expect, all our staff have CRB clearance and fully checked references.
Although we operate a ‘key-working’ system, care is provided by all the staff on duty at any given time. Our care staff work in three shifts, which ensures a full 24 hours of coverage each day.
To help us make sure we provide a good quality service, the Care Quality Commission (CQC) monitor, inspect and regulate us on an ongoing basis. They publish their findings, including ratings to help people choose their care and at our last inspection, we received the rating of ‘Good’.
I am grateful that since joining Baxendale, I have changed from being in a poorly state to feeling fitter and more able to enjoy life.
